Why should I open a Single bank account for the Golden Visa investment?
For all Golden Visa investors, we recommend that you open a Single bank account for the purpose of making the Golden Visa investment.
The reason for this is to avoid any confusion with the Portugal immigration office regarding the number of investors in your visa application. If they determine that a joint account represents 2 investors, it is possible that you will be required to invest double the amount in order to qualify for the Golden Visa. To avoid this situation, we recommend that anyone interested in applying for the Golden Visa, open the bank account under the name of the main investor.
This will not impact the visa application of the spouse since the visa process for the spouse falls under the Family Reunification process, which is separate from the Golden Visa application.
