Are there any additional requirements for Portuguese citizens?

If you hold Portuguese citizenship, we will need a copy of your Portuguese-issued birth certificate.

If you are a Portuguese citizen but were born outside of Portugal, you may provide your Cartão de Cidadão as an alternative.

If you have a Portuguese Cartão de Cidadão, please make sure that you have not been issued a NIF in the past. If you already have a NIF and request for another one through Bordr, the request will get rejected since you cannot be issued more than one NIF.
